Introduction

Well my name is Kasey and im 25 years old. Im 17w2d pregnant with my second child. My son will be turning 2 in march. When i was pregnant with my son Logan i found out that i had gestational dieabetes. Had to take insulin twice a day. On march 1st 2007 my water broke. I was scared cause i was only 33 weeks. The hospital i planned to deliver at does not have the stuff needed to take care of a premie baby so i was sent via ambulance to UAMS in Little Rock Arkansas. There they gave me a shot to stop my labor. I was not able to deliver till 7 days later on March 8th. Logan weighed 4lbs 13oz he had jaundice and was having sleep apnea. 2 days before i was to leave the hospital with him they told me he had a small bleed on the right side of his head. It looked as if he had had a stoke. The right side of his face would just hang down and you could tell it was just weaker than the left side. The doctors assured me that it was common in premie babies and that it would go away by the time he hit his gestational age. I prayed that it would. Thank God it did. He was sent home on a heart monitor which relieved alot of my stress. I was scared to death taking him home and being a first time mommy. But all is well now and hes a healthy 25 pound boy. Hes the light of my life. Now im pregnant again. Dont know the gender of this one yet but hope that its a girl but if not a boy will be just fine as long as its healthy. Im scared with this pregnancy. Praying that i dont have it early like i did with Logan. My doctor said that its not very common to have 2 preterm labors. So i hope that he is right. I had my first ultra sound on the 18th of November and everything looked good. I will have the gestational diabetes again but so far my sugar has been good but the doctor said it will get worse as i get further along so untill then im just watching what i eat. I will find out the gender when im 24 weeks which is a long ways away. I have felt the baby move already. Its not very strong but i can feel it in there. We have decided on a girls name. Ive had Americus Ann Nicole picked out for a girl since i was pregnant with logan so thats what her name will be. We have not decided on a boys name yet. Boy names seem harder than girls names.
